Elva Little Celebrates 105^th birthday.  Elva was born in Rexville on February 1, 1907  to Luther and Lizzie (Lane) Delay . She graduated from Versailles High Schoolin 1925. Latin was her favorite subject.   After Graduation Elva was a telephone operator at Cincinnati Bell and resided at the YWCA in Cincinnati.  She attended the Chicago Worlds fair sometime after high school.  

On February 1, 1936 Elva Married Delbert Little at noon at the 9th street Baptist church in Cincinnati. Elva stated “It was love at first sight” They then moved to Indianapolisand rented their first apartment for fourteen dollars a month.  Can anyone today imagine that? Elva and Delbert  had 3 children  Patricia Anne Little Smith,  Martha Faye Delay Little, David Mahlon Little.   Elva was a member of Versailles Baptist. 

Being 105 I asked her what do you think is your secret to a long life and she replied “ hard work and keeping busy and we were always taught to care about our health.”  “The most changes in the last 104 years has been in health care.   I was always interested in keeping my family healthy.  We were always interested in medicine and my girls both became nurses and my son a veterinarian.”

Along with her many accomplishments at 92 Elva wrote a book titled “Life in the Slow Lane”
