What a beautiful, sunny, warm Saturday for Ripley Crossing’s Fourth Annual Classic Cruise – In for Alzheimers. 73 Classic vehicles were registered this year, with all receiving a magnetic plague commemorating the special event. We kindly accepted free will donation for registration.

Our loving residents always look forward to be taken outside by staff, family and volunteers to view and to vote for their top 3 favorite classic vehicles.

This year’s winners were:

1st place going to Gary and Sheila Seig with their 1955 Chevrolet Belair Sport Coupe.

2nd place going to Bruce Denni with his 1956 Chevy Truck.

3rd place going to Greg Roth with his 1969 Chevy Camaro.

To start the morning, the radio station Eagle Country 99.3 did some interviewing. Along with the radio station, Joan Zoller donated her generator for The Golden Eagles to entertain us with their musical talents. Photographer, Amanda Johnson Byrum, of Lasting Impression Photography captured many memorable pictures with her photogenic eye. Mid-day, The Reservation Restaurant donated the chicken for our delicious luncheon. Special thanks to our fryers, Brian, Gary, Angie, Nick, Shelly and Alma and to our awesome kitchen staff and managers whom assisted with drinks, desserts and side dishes.

Throughout the day, many vendors and/or individuals donated their special items and time to come and set up booths which included, Deville Pharmacy, Southeastern Natural Gas Co., The Milan Lions Club, Thirty-One, St. Elizabeth Physicians, Handmade Vintage, Pampered Chef, It Works, Young Living Essential Living, Paparazzi, The Army National Guard, Handmade items by Jeff Zoller ,Craft items by Debbie Bergman, Paint Nite, Norwex, Our staff made baskets for the raffles and our Healthcare Therapy Services attended featuring our Therapy Dog, Jack, whom is a big part of our residents lives.

Monetary donations came in from many local companies including, Kelly Oil, Indian Trail BP, Deville Pharmacy, Milan VFW Post 6234, HTS Therapy, Whitewater Motors, UCB Bank, Laws, Carr & Moore Funeral Home, Dillsboro BP, Stedman Machine Company, Hoosier Hills Regional Water, Milan Lions Club, St Elizabeth Physicians, Drake Lawn and Landscaping, Friendship State Bank, Brenda Martin, Tom Tepe, The Beacon, Hummel Winters Insurance, All American Vending, SE Indiana Natural Gas, Plugs Sweet Tooth, Quality Auto Mart, All About Home’s Floral, TC’s Side street Tavern and McPhersons.

Ending our fun filled day, with soft serve ice cream and snow cones …. Ripley Crossing, with all your continued help and support, was able to donate $4,000 to the Southeastern Indiana Alzheimer’s Support Group. Sending a HUGE heartfelt thank you from all our residents and staff for making this a Very Successful Event.
